After meeting during World of Coffee last year, Luis Marcelino an autodidact about coffee genetics and founder of Aroma Nativo Project and Hernán Cabra a specialist in coffee processing, decided to start a new coffee project in 2022 with the acquisition of 5 hectares of land currently cultivated mainly with Colombia variety, the idea of these two young people is to progressively implement new varieties such as Geisha, Sudan Rume, Typica Mejorado, SL28 and thus have a garden where the best genetics are allied to agricultural and post-harvest best practices to achieve lots for championships.
This department consists entirely of mountain landscapes covered in tropical rainforest, Quindío’s economy is based mainly in the harvest of coffee. It is one of the most important producers of Colombian coffee. The department belongs to the Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis which is the center of production and export of the highest quality coffee in Colombia.
After picking the ripest drupes and hand selecting them this Geisha variety passed through 96h Carbonic Maceration in drupe, then pulped and again 96h fermentations in sealed barrels with inoculated geisha lactic bacteria from our farm.
